Even with 8 people here, we had more leftovers than we knew what to do with. On the menu: baked rigatoni, lasagna, garlic bread, sausages and sautéed bell peppers.

Also, a few bokeh pictures thrown in for good measure… (I was playing with new camera toys while the delicious food was being prepared.)

It’s not that I don’t know how- it’s that normally I just don’t care. However, the fact that I don’t cook regularly makes it more appreciated when I actually do. (Go me!) Here’s what I’ve been up to the last few days:

homemade tortilla chips - I chose to make these on the hottest day of the summer

I was sweaty by the time I was finished, but they were worth it

applefuckingdelicious - an apple cobbler mistake that went SO right

shredded chicken mixed with cheese and homemade enchilada sauce

first layer of rolled enchiladas - I always need at least two layers

and this is why I need two layers - they disappear FAST

If you’re familiar with New Orleans, Beale Street is like the PG version of Bourbon Street: excellent food and great music but no b00bies. I had a great time, and the absolute best barbecue (and pancakes) that I’ve ever had in my life.

last night on Beale Street Bangkok Alley. Heh. a show I'd love to see the band lunch at B.B. King's blues club the only photo from the Gibson factory because they suck and don't allow photography inside bbq at Pig's (B.B. King's bbq was better) a historical landmark that guitar is a replica of one of Elvis' an old and out-of-order Pepsi machine on the premises where the magic happened instrumentals the faces that made Sun Records a hit waiting for the tour to start 50's style texting inside the infamous Sun Records building something bad happened here hmm I cannot believe I ate all of this sausage and biscuits capacity reached the attempt to eat two pizza-sized pancakes begins waiting for our food took a while because Dominique made sure it was the FINEST food they were serving breakfast at Li'l Anthony's ]]> http://buttershug.com/photoblog/hangin-in-memphis/feed/ 2
