Cincinnati Museum Center

Posted on 13 Mar ’11 by Nikki Murray

Today seemed like a good day for the museum. I’ve lived in Cincinnati for almost three years but there is quite a bit I haven’t seen yet. We went to the history museum, the museum of natural history and science and saw Hubble at the Omnimax Theater. It was an entertaining day with some amazing discoveries.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to update. Things have been busy.

Koala Fires

Matt, Matt, Matt and Ben

Posted on 27 Aug ’10 by Nikki Murray

I stopped by Northside on Monday night to shoot some photos of the Koala Fires while they practiced. Having already been an admirer of the group’s last album for a while, The Beeping in Our Hearts, I certainly enjoyed listening to them play while I took their pictures. We were even able to witness the birth of a new song.

The Koala Fires are playing playing at the Midpoint Music Festival on Saturday, Sep. 25 at 9:30.

Killer ★ Effect

Posted on 18 Aug ’10 by Nikki Murray

We headed down to the warehouse on Sunday for an “emergency” photo shoot of the a fresh new local Cincinnati band, Killer Star Effect. I threw out the lights and they set up their gear for the shoot. But I didn’t just get your average band-members-posing-with-their-instruments shots. They played song after song for me while I photographed. It was absolutely awesome and the results were, too.

My name is Nikki Murray and I’m a mother of two who has been buried neck-deep in code since 1998. I presently work as a user experience and interface designer for a health IT company during the daylight hours. When I’m not freelancing during my off hours, I am prowling around with a camera or recklessly maneuvering needles.
