In increasing efforts to be more fit and get outside as much as possible, Lex and I have incorporated a morning walk into our daily routine. The other morning, I decided to take the camera with me. I really should remember to take it wherever I go so I stop missing opportunities.

Up in the Smoky Mountains

We had the first kid-free opportunity since the wedding just this past weekend. Being busy with work and unable to go too far, I wasn’t particularly sure what to do or where to go. As usual, Terry knew where to head and so we took a drive out to Gatlinburg – a place I had never been. Despite being sick nearly the entire length of the stay, we had a pretty good time and saw some amazing views.

Every morning, I stand outside with Em and wait for the bus with her. These were taken one morning when it was particularly serene, just before a storm. It seems as though it hasn’t stopped raining since.

A gorgeous day

We recently caught a break from the dreadful heat wave here in Cincinnati. Yesterday, it only got up to about 78° which meant open windows and actually being comfortable in a pair of jeans outside. The air conditioner didn’t turn on almost all day. It was a good day.

Little skater girls

Ever since the evening spent in the presence of Bill G.’s backyard half pipe, Em has been enthusiastic about practicing skating and getting her own board some day. There are plenty of boards in this house, but most of them are too wide and too long for the girls. So, the other evening when Terry took the girls out to pick up some ice cream, two very happy little girls also came home with skateboards under their arm.
